Continuing our #IWD project with the beautiful KATHLEEN- Scribed by @deniselegeayhumberstone Kathleen.20. Down syndrome. #IWD. How much do you forget about them being a woman when they have a disability?I mean, should Kathleen be described as a woman who happens to have Down syndrome or someone with Down syndrome who happens to be a woman? It’s not as straightforward an answer as you might think. Especially on IWD.On most days, just like on the day of that shoot, she’s definitely the former. But when it comes to having a voice, to fighting her corner, to processing the how’s and the why’s she might be shortchanged on the basis of her condition and/or her gender, well, she’s definitely the latter and that’s when I take over.We all know normalisation comes through representation, which comes through diversity, which comes through inclusion, which comes through awareness. It’s a loop. When it comes to women in general, I’m confident they’ve proved themselves through all that process. Although they must keep vigilant and remain on that loop.We went from seeing their gender before we saw their abilities, to judging their abilities according to their gender, to simply judging their abilities. The new generation doesn’t even notice the gender, they’re more concerned about the person and their abilities, as it should be..Throw a disability, or a condition, or a difference, visible or not, in that delicate mix, and well, it’s a whole different kettle of fish. Just like the sheer cloak of womanhood used to hide away a person’s abilities and confine them to a well-defined code of conduct, the sheer cloak of disability seem to be stripping them of their womanhood. That’s why it is important to see women like Kathleen and the other models represented in such campaigns, so that they will remind or reveal to people that not only their condition or disability doesn’t make them any less of a woman, but that beyond it is the full range of feelings, emotions and urges of any other mainstream woman, the joys and sorrows, the longing and the disappointments, the need for validation and fulfilment. ZEBEDEE X HUCKBOBDY COLLABORATION FOR LEARNING DISABILITY AWARENESS WEEK. THIS IS ELLIE @elliejg16_zebedeemodel The British Zebedee model who has caught the world’s attention after starring in a campaign for @guccibeauty ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ After deciding she wanted to be a model, she signed to Zebedee at 15 years old and the rest is history! Ellie says; “I haven’t had any bad experiences having Down’s syndrome. I think it’s because of my personality. The only challenge I have faced was maybe people signing to me and talking to my mum instead of me, until realising that I can communicate and that I am just like them, maybe just slower at learning some things. Once people realise I can talk and have a great character, they are different towards me and they smile. There needs to be more positivity out there and people should give us a chance and not be so ignorant. When I look at the images, I feel happy with myself, and all the likes and comments on social media across the world have been overwhelming. My hope as a model is to become famous one day. My dream job [is to] be on the front cover of @Vogue and work for other big brands. My hopes and dreams are to show the world who I am and what I can achieve.” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Creative Direction & Production by HUCKBODY @huckbody_ assisted by Laura Huckbody @huckbody24 & India Proctor @indiaproctorr Photography by Darren Black @darren_black Videography by Dani Lanae @calltheshots__ Post production by Chris Carr @carr4081 at Brain Make-up by Helen Brady @helenbradymua using Illamasqua @illamasqua assisted by Monica Montalvo @monicamontalvomua Hair by Mary Geoghegan @maryg.hair using Sebastian Professional @sebastianpro_official assisted by Annette Gray @nettgray #ZBD #TEAMZEBEDEE #ZEBEDEEMANAGEMENT #DISABILITYAWARENESS #MODELSWITHDISABILITIES #inclusionrevolution

ZEBEDEE X HUCKBOBDY COLLABORATION My name is Bernadette Hagans, I’m from Belfast and I’m a model with a prosthetic leg. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What does disability month mean to you? I think it’s so important to keep raising awareness of different disabilities and how we can still live completely normal lives. So many people don’t understand that having a disability doesn’t make you any less of a person, we all deserve equality and inclusion. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What does modelling make you feel? I feel empowered when I model. Before my amputation of my leg, I was really shy. Modelling has helped my confidence grow and I feel amazing shooting. I love that I’m able to be a part of the change in the industry. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Who inspires you? I would say my family and friends do. Everyone has their own issues and journeys but I love that we can all keep pushing forward and overcome it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What is your proudest moment so far? Getting booked by a brand I really wanted to work with made me so proud because I didn’t think I could do it. I now feel like I can keep pushing towards anything that I want. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Model @bernadettehagans Creative Direction & Production by HUCKBODY @huckbody_ assisted by Laura Huckbody @huckbody24 & India Proctor @indiaproctorr Photography by Darren Black @darren_black Videography by Dani Lanae @calltheshots__ Post production by Chris Carr @carr4081 at Brain Make-up by Helen Brady @helenbradymua using Illamasqua @illamasqua assisted by Monica Montalvo @monicamontalvomua Hair by Mary Geoghegan @maryg.hair using Sebastian Professional @sebastianpro_official assisted by Annette Gray @nettgray ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Suit @hosheldonhall Earrings @adrianlewisjewellery Rings @amygotheridge_design Shoes @katmaconie

ZEBEDEE X HUCKBODY COLLABORATION THIS IS ANGELA Do you want to see more inclusion in the fashion,Advertising and media world? I definitely want to see more inclusion in the fashion advertising and media world as it’s important for children growing up to see others with differences and disability and understand that it is okay, beautiful and normal. It is important for others with differences and disabilities to also see other people in the fashion, advertising and media world with people that they can relate to who may be an inspiration to them. These kind of representations will definitely boost more peoples confidence. What did this shoot mean to you? I loved it! It really made me feel beautiful. It was really nice having my make up, hair done as well as modelling in clothes that we usually see in magazines and media. The atmosphere was buzzing and everyone from the stylists to photographers were so friendly and fun! I felt that the shoot was really powerful as it showed it didn’t matter about your difference or disability – we all rocked and the day was amazing! ZEBEDEE X HUCKBODY COLLABORATION THIS IS JOHANNAH @chick_with_a_walking_stick Do you want to see more disability inclusion in the fashion, advertising and media world?  Of course there should be more inclusion in the fashion world. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a model with a walking stick, even though it’s really no effort for a brand to implement that. I’ve heard the argument that it ‘distracts from the clothing’, but if a design can be that easily distracted from, it needs to go back to the drawing board anyway! What did this shoot mean to you? It just highlights how unusual it is to see something like this, when it shouldn’t be at all Creative Direction & Production by HUCKBODY @huckbody_ assisted by Laura Huckbody @huckbody24 & India Proctor @indiaproctorr Photography by Darren Black @darren_black Videography by Dani Lanae @calltheshots__ Post production by Chris Carr @carr4081 at Brain  Make-up by Helen Brady @helenbradymua using Illamasqua @illamasqua assisted by Monica Montalvo @monicamontalvomua Hair by Mary Geoghegan @maryg.hair using Sebastian Professional @sebastianpro_official assisted by Annette Gray @nettgray JOHANNAH SANGSTER @chick_with_a_walking_stick Coat, Trousers and leather Chukka boots, all by Nomad Atelier @nomadatelier Ribbon @vvrouleaux Dress by House of SheldonHall @hosheldonhall Belt by The Model Traitor @themodeltraitorofficial Clog boots by Walkley Clogs #WalkleyClogs #ZBD#zebedeemanagement #ZEBEDEE #invisibleillness #curves #loveyourself #bodypositivemovement #inclusionrevolution
